Since Courtney’s family are lifelong members of the NY Athletic Club*, it was the natural place for she and Steve to tie the knot. Both of these two film professionals met at work (set up by Steve’s boss).By the same token, it was a bold statement for them not to have a cinematographer covering the event, so it made the photography all that more important.
From the carved moldings, to the Central Park location, to the mini Junior’s cheescakes offered as wedding favors, seems like every little detail about this wedding subtly whispered “Old, New, York.” as no other details could.
Vendor list at the bottom of this post. All those listed are esteemed colleagues and impressively talented. A perfect fit for this swellegant affair.
What is The New York Athletic Club*(mentioned in Real Romance post)?
FOUNDED IN 1868, THE NEW YORK ATHLETIC CLUB BOASTS A UNIQUE HISTORY.
Since the Club’s founding, our premise was to bring structure to a sporting environment. we discovered that quality was lacking in sports organizations. Quickly, the New York Athletic Club organized the first US championships in boxing, swimming, wrestling and track & field.
Even more, our New York City clubhouse stands in tribute to an unmatched athletic history and our ongoing commitment to the pursuit of sporting excellence. Thus also providing unmatched social opportunities for its members.
Most noteworthy, NYAC athletes have won 271 Olympic medals: 151 gold, 54 silver and 66 bronze. Likewise, the NYAC has sent athletes to every modern summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the US-boycotted Moscow Games of 1980.
Furthermore, at the New York Athletic Club top class athletes enjoy unwavering support. That’s how it has been since the Club’s founding in 1868 and that’s how it will remain. And the Athlete’s Fund exists to provide funding – especially in Olympic years – for Club athletes.
Since the Club’s and the Fund’s focus is, above all, on its athletes, it is important to mention that there are many organizations that benefit from the Club. Hence, these are an essential element in the Athlete’s Fund.
