5 Times Fathers Win Their Emotions at Weddings.

Written and Shot by Angela Cappetta

A father-offspring relationship can be utterly beautiful. It is rich, complex and remarkable. For those lucky enough to have their dad with them on their wedding day, said offspring never squander this connection. His child is forever his warrior, no matter the age.So, I gathered a roundup of my photographs of dads seeing their children on their wedding days. These pictures below, all by yours truly, celebrate the bond families share. All are taken in the moment, as is my style. To photograph family is a job perk. Even the unlikeliest of papas fully win when seeing their child in wedding attire. Furthermore, some  explore the notion that the even the most atypical of the dads aren’t immune from busting up in joy, harmony, love.

I ask that you take a look. Then, shoot me a note and let me know your favorite.

1. Sometimes, dads perform their son's wedding ceremonies.

In a day-long attempt to keep it together, this dad married his son and son in law on a crisp fall day in  Prospect Park in Brooklyn. He only lost it once during the  spiritual 30 minute ceremony.

2.Dads have first looks with their daughters.

This couple wanted to wait to see each other for the first time in church. So the family had the incredibly sweet idea of doing a first look with her dad at their family's home in Queens. He loved it, and, well, just look at his face.

3. Brides have bursts of emotion around their dads, too.

Sometimes, dad is the recipient of the burst of emotion. During formals, this bride just leaned in and pecked him on the cheek. These two are very close, and have a fun, spiritual connection. He didn't expect it but doesn't seem to mind.

4. Dads. Are. Dashing.

I mean, sometimes a dad cleans up good. Just look at these two. If this isn't father daughter goals I don't know what is.

5. Dads especially win when they Face Time from overseas with no shirt on.

So, this may be the best father daughter moment ever. Ok, yes it was summer, and needless to say it's hot in July. But dads who are overseas will face time their daughters in varying degrees of casual attire. Or not. That's how they roll.

Let’s shoot!
