When a Model Gets Married
Posted from a previous day in honor of #tbtTop Model Laura met Pete on a transcontinental flight from Burbank to New York. He was instantly smitten. In true jet setting fashion, on their wedding day, they landed at a city loft in the shadow of the Empire State Building. Their entire wedding had a global vision. From the kimono-clad actress pouring sake, to the champagne on ice in a vintage claw foot bathtub, to midnight pizzas delivered from Otto. And even the symbolic herb favors in clay pots symbolized a fresh, new chapter. This wedding sported an international flair as chic and cool as this bride and groom.
The Veil at a Model Wedding
During the entire wedding Pete's Grandma Rose stood watch. She owned a bridal shop for 30 years. Grandad is a milliner's supplier. They met in the garment district decades past when their shops first opened. That is where Laura's veil was sourced. It was the last bolt of tulle in her Grandmother's shop before it closed. It created a dramatic frame around Laura as she walked down the aisle with her mother.
Furthermore, Grandma Rose took it upon herself to oversee the Pronovias dress' intricate fittings to hug Laura's gazelle-like frame.
The entire fitting was done under Grandma Rose's watchful eye. Since Laura is a top model, Grandma Rose was extra careful that the dress matched the bride's discerning eye. Laura works in fashion, after all. At the wedding, Grandma Rose beamed at Laura, a vision in her charmeuse gown. Rose quietly and wisely nodded "my seamstress did a nice job."As featured on +Style Me Pretty and +Summer Watkins. A Model Wedding
