Making a Photo book by Angela Cappetta and Getting Ready for Paris Photo

My first Paris Photo is coming up and I’m thrilled. My new book Glendalis will have it’s official European premiere at the L’Artiere booth on Saturday November 9th. I am even lucky enough to have my squad flying in from all over the globe to celebrate with me.

There have been many photography projects within the project.

I’m getting a lot of questions about how I feel about this. It’s been a lot of blood, sweat and tears. But I’ve been happy to do it. The project itself, throughout its trajectory, was an educational process. Over the ten years of shooting it, I learned how to budget things like film and darkroom costs, how to apply for artist’s grants, how to pitch a print proposal to a museum, and, ultimately, how to prepare a book for publication.

There are a million costs. The overhead is simply staggering. Making the analog part of the work fully modern and compatible with the latest offset printing technology is the most recent part of the project. I make no money off of this. But it’s worth it because, in the end, the work isn’t meant to sit in a box. Such is the life of the artist. We signed up for this.

And we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I’ve attached below some new pieces of press below. I’ll have more soon. Watch the News section of my site for the latest.
