Washington Square Park Wedding Photography: A Match Made on Tinder.

And well, here we are. Sara contacted me at the end of the second vaccination roll out. Her story was not atypical of many COVID couples. They waited 20 months to get married and well, it was going to happen. They did a mini socially distanced "wedding" with just the two of them and an officiant in Washington Square Park before the city reopened. Now it was time to shoot it properly. 

Sarah and John wanted wedding photography, as they put it "with their favorite people". In this case, this meant with their parents. Washington Square Park Wedding Photography.

 Sara wore an incredible Marchesa dress which she bought before the pandemic. She held onto it until the moment was right. And the right moment was on our shoot day. A bright, glorious September morning before the park fully woke up. We went to the scene of the crime, the little garden nook where they said their vows in March 2021. Then we strolled. We took time to pause beside lovely flowering beds. We Showed off John's mother's beadwork in the pieces she made for the couple.And then there was Lucy. A little gizmo, ewok style dog. She was my favorite. John's mom even gave her a bath before the photo shoot. Because everyone wants to look their best. I hope you enjoy this pandemic love story in photographs. I enjoyed shooting it as much as I could enjoy shooting anything. After all, a wedding doesn't have to be grand to be wonderful.
