Because I really love this one shown above. It shows off everything that film and a lens can do. I can't help but love it and derive total enjoyment. The lace, the pattern, the beads. And the fit. It is loose. Somehow, though, it hangs on her perfectly. So there is joy experienced from following a trail of stitching all over the garment.I was paid a premium rate to shoot this. You can't pull someone off the street to do this type of thing. This is pro level, serious work. And it is worth every penny.How does a photographer achieve this level of detail? Above, in the color photo, you see a very challenging situation. However, I placed the dress there. I know that a rookie could not shoot this scenario. The shadow across the whole dress, shoes and veil would be a dark black blob to an untrained shooter. But not to a camera master. So, why did I make this choice?Because I know how, I am able to retain all the detail of the still life and still create a moment that fits into the narrative of the day. A lovely still life was created. And my ability to do the math on each shot, and to keep telling the story of the day, is why a customer pays for me.
