Dan and Kelly are infatuated with old New York, which is why they love Washington Heights. Replete with history, Washington Heights is famed for being the neighborhood where the First Nation Americans sold Manhattan to the Dutch for $26.00. A Fort Tryon Park wedding was exactly the right thing for them.
Why a Fort Tryon Park Wedding?
This couple wanted a wedding that celebrated the history of their beloved neighborhood. Having their first look in Fort Tryon Park, overlooking the majestic Hudson River, was a good start. The sun hung low on the horizon long enough to shine on them as they saw each other for the first time. Kelly wore a couture Art Noveau inspired gown by Maggie Sottero. Dan had a suit made at Brooklyn’s Suit Supply Custom.
Most importantly, their invitations were a historic map of the area, highlighting the Rockefeller Estate, where the wedding took place. Built in the 1930’s, just a few years after the Titanic, the estate hit the couples’ desired elements, making it easy for Kelly and Dan to embrace the theme.
That, and the cutest first look we’ve ever seen.
