Red Wedding Dress
Weddings aren’t always flowers and lace. This was the case at Donna Marie and Ricky's viral “Heavy Metal Cabaret” NYC offbeat wedding.
This wedding went viral. We were so flattered the blogosphere responded so positively to this couple’s bold choices.
The creativity this couple expressed shows inimitable imagination. This rock-inspired event was held at a private Bowery venue. Complete with stage performers, low-lying fog, board games instead of centerpieces and a glitter man instead of a flower girl. DonnaMarie is the singer in a band as well as an FDNY paramedic. Ricky went down the aisle in sharp, one-button suit and satin tie. Donna Marie opted for Doc Martins to accommodate a foot injury. She was a trooper and glided down the aisle as she made her entrance. Then there was that cake.. In a tribute to their favorite movie, the couple collaborated with a celebrated baker for a Ghost Busters themed wedding cake complete with a topper of them crossing the streams (they lit up).
Needless to say, amazing details abound in this gritty, Lower East Side affair. Such as The CIA-style suitcase with a handcuff which held the official papers and a repurposed amp which served as their envelope box. Bonus! This couple chose a full-film package. We loved offering our clients a combination of color and black and white 35mm film in this authentic, Lower East Side wedding like no other. We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it.
