Shot on location at the original Steinway & Sons piano showroom in Manhattan
This video shoot took place in the Rachmaninoff room at the Steinway and Sons right before it closed. One can see an original photo of the piano here. It was on 57th street for over a century. But like many things in New York, the Steinway Piano Showroom had to move to new digs. We were brought in to celebrate the most special piano in the collection. Sicilian pianist Sandro Russo performed Three Preludes by Chopin as we filmed. He played it like an attack, striking the keys magnificently. The sonic campfire arose, Nirvana was achieved. Film making is an opportunity for us to go to places to which we wouldn’t be invited otherwise.
