Our Diversity Statement NYC Wedding Photography

Our Diversity Statement NYC Wedding Photography. I continue to stand against hate by vocally speaking out against ableism, ageism, antisemitism, classism, homophobia, misogyny, queerphobia, racism, sexism, sizeism, transphobia and xenophobia. Furthermore, I continuously support people who have been marginalized in any way. I, and those in my employ, shall continue to use terms of support. (NYC Wedding Photography. To enumerate:

  1. POC: People of Color.
  2. LGBTQIAP: Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning, Intersex, Asexual, Pansexual.

I pledge to show and continue to discover modalities of support in these basic ways and to the best of my ability. To enumerate:

  1.  With Words. I will work to edit my language to be welcoming, not limiting, to all people. This is what I promise to myself first, so that I can then offer it to others.
  2.  In Conversation. I will work and choose to actively speak up for equality and inclusivity to my employees, friends, family and strangers. Additionally, if I hear a racist, homophobic, transphobic, size shaming, age discriminating or disability-based joke or remark I will work to correct that conversation.
  3. I will respond and stand up for those being targeted. I will correct misinformation whenever I hear it, and I will work to start new conversations around these issues. 3. By Choosing Language I will be thoughtful to use inclusive terms in my everyday conversations, on my website, forms, contracts, and in social media for both employees and clients. I will focus on putting people first, not their characteristics.
  4. With a Person's Respected Pronouns. Furthermore, I will honor and normalize the use o people’s pronouns such as She/Her, He/Him, They/Them/, Ze/Hir, Ey/Em, Other. I will do this by respectfully asking, not assuming.
  5.  Through Resources. I’ll seek to find ways to demonstrate and expand my support.
  6. On Social Media. In my feeds, I shall work to share and promote posts that encourage equality, diversity and inclusion.I will denounce hate speech articulately. I will follow and engage with accounts that are different from mine to help in understanding and learning more.
  7. In Hiring. I will make every effort to consider all people equally for open positions within my company. Hiring the best person for the job is the goal, yet I will be sure to advertise the position in places where a more diverse group of candidates are likely to see it and apply for it.(NYC Wedding Photography. Portrait Photography NYC. NYC Event Photography. Etc.)

  8. By Using Imagery and Various Media. I will be thoughtful regarding the imagery we share on our company’s channels. We commit to visually celebrate a diverse array of all peoples. This includes but is not limited to, visually embracing race, gender, ethnicity, size, ability, sexuality and age.
  9.  In My Capacity as an Professional Artist and Professor. I understand that I am in a unique position to reach people. I will not take this for granted. My classroom and my art practice will adhere to these basic principles set forth above.
